A celebration of the life of Donna Kay Tourte will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Salem United Methodist Church in Paton. The Rev David Arulnathan, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Interment will be at the Paton Township Cemetery.
Donna Kay Tourte, the daughter of Myron and Marjorie Ayers Gilley, was born December 5, 1940, in Bagley, and passed from this life surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2023. She lived a full and active life to the age of 82.
Donna grew up in the Dana area and graduated from Dana High School, the only girl in a class of eight.
On June 21, 1959, Donna was united in marriage to Larry Tourte at the Methodist Church in Paton. Two sons were born to this union, Donald and Douglas. Donna and Larry lived on a farm east of Paton until 2000, when they moved into Paton. Donna then moved to Jefferson in 2019.
Donna was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and an active member of the UMW. She had fond memories of many years in her “Get Together Club”. She also has greatly enjoyed her weekly Tuesday coffee in Paton and A&W Girls Coffee Club in Jefferson.
Donna and Larry enjoyed life, including spending 20+ winters in Arizona. Of most importance to Donna was her family, of whom she was very proud.
Left to remember her life are sons, Don (Sally) of Clive and their children David (Amy) Tourte, Michael, and Annie (Bobby) Brummel; Doug (Becky) Tourte of Paton and their children Kelsey (Bill) Bruce and Mitchel (Leslie) Tourte; great-grandchildren Cecilia, Estelle and Henry Tourte; and sister Shirley Johnson.
Those who preceded her in death are her husband, parents, and brothers Jim and Buck.
